Camden Middle School
Hard work is nothing new to Camden Middle School’s Adapted Curriculum classes in Kingsland, Georgia. However, this unique group is taking on their biggest job yet – the school’s yearbook.
When their teacher, Mary Rowe, volunteered to be the yearbook coordinator, she knew it would be hard work. She also knew she would have the support of the best yearbook staff anyone could ask for: her students.
From photography to editing to pushing the equipment cart, each student, regardless of their skill level, will play a vital role in creating a product the entire school will enjoy. By enlisting the help of local photographers and the schools PALs (Peer Assistance and Leadership) Helpers, students will learn invaluable social, communication, vocational, and life skills while becoming actively involved with the school on a whole new level.
With only a short time to work on their project, students completed their first major task: this year’s theme. After brainstorming and researching yearbook themes the group agreed on “Small Town Big Dreams” – a phrase that exemplifies the Camden Middle School yearbook staff.
